poster competition

At the BIOFORUM day on September 24 in Neuchâtel, Ph.D. students and post-docs will have the opportunity to present a poster on their research. 

Thematic

  • Research in biology-biotechnology and their application.

Prizes:

  • 3 prizes will be attributed: CHF 1000.00, CHF 500.00 and CHF 500.
  • The criteria by which the prizes will be awarded are: scientific quality, local usefulness, and aesthetic.
  • There will be a maximum of 20 posters.
  • Prize distribution: at the end of the Bioforum day.

Who can submit a poster:  Ph.D. students and post-docs

  • Selection: Posters will be selected between 7-11 September.
  • You will be informed if your poster has been selected on September 14.
  • If your poster is selected you should print it in A0 format before September 22
    and be present the whole day on September 24.

 The jury will visit the posters between 12.00-14.00.
Participants can only submit a poster if they can be present on Thursday 24 September.

Results:

  • 1st prize: Prix Baxter
    Mr Gilles Weder, CSEM SA, Neuchâtel: "Microstuctured non-metallic bone implants: In vitro & in vivo evaluation"
  • 2nd prize: Prix ANB
    Mr Davide Merulla, University ofLausanne: "Development of a micro fluidic device utilizing whole cell biosensors as arsenite detectors"
  • 3rd prize: Prix SNSN
    Mrs Lucia Eugeni Piller, University of Neuchâtel: "Plastoglobules: lipid droplets rich in Vitamins E and K "

Dates:  24 September 2009

Schedule (preliminary): 8.55 - 17.00. Lunch and coffee breaks are included.

Location: hotel Beau-Rivage, Neuchâtel

Credit points: 0.5 credit point with poster presentation (Scientific, external)

Evaluation: poster presentation

Travel expenses: Participants of the" Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Organismal Biology" are eligible for reimbursement of incurred travel expenses on the basis of the price of public transportation (train ticket, half-fare card, and 2nd class). Please fill in the  Doctoral Programme reimbursement form and send it with original tickets to Dr Christiane Bobillier.

Registration through the web only: closed. To register you MUST present a poster. If your poster is not selected, you can NOT attend the Bioforum.
