Research:
My research interests lie at the interface between environmental and human interactions, linked directly to the ecological crisis. Specifically, my research largely focuses on enhancing biodiversity monitoring through combining in situ methodologies with remote sensing techniques at the ecosystem scale. I enjoy working across landscapes, targeting priority habitats and species for all-encompassing biodiversity conservation. Throughout my research, I also endeavour to use interdisciplinary approaches incorporating stakeholder engagement and scientific communication.

Currently, I am a part of a European wide project “BioMoni” that targets biodiversity monitoring across oceanic islands. In particular, we are aiming to increase the scale of monitoring terrestrial habitats across island archipelagos with the use of terrestrial laser scanning and satellite image remote sensing. We hope to develop protocols that link remote sensing products to the monitoring of Essential Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service Variables for underrepresented habitats and taxa.
