Project: BioMoQA (Biodiversity Monitoring via Question Answering) and BioMonI (Biodiversity Monitoring of Island Ecosystems)
Research:
My research focuses on island ecosystems and their conservation from a variety of perspectives, including biodiversity monitoring, human-wildlife interactions, and environmental change. As a postdoctoral researcher in the Conservation Biology Lab, I review island biodiversity monitoring schemes to enhance AI-powered tools (BioMoQA) and support long-term monitoring networks on islands (BioMonI). Previously, I investigated human-wildlife interactions in the Galápagos (MSc) and reconstructed environmental changes in Vanuatu using lake sediment cores (PhD). My goal is to integrate past and present ecological data to inform effective conservation strategies.
