Project: ReDIV: Restoring tropical forest landscapes: tree diversity, stand structural complexity and productivity relationships at pan-tropical scale

Website: https://akshaybirdwatch.weebly.com/

Research:
My PhD focuses on understanding the role of mixed-species tree restoration in mitigating the impact of invasive species on various ecosystem processes, ranging from pollination to dispersal. My project also examines the context-specificity in this relationship by working across multiple tropical restoration experiments (part of the TreeDivNet consortium). Coming from the Global South myself, I am passionate to increase inclusivity in science and make efforts to promote the same (eg: https://akshaybirdwatch.weebly.com/resources-for-students.html)

Education:
Presently: PhD in Conservation Biology Lab, University of Neuchatel
2023: BS-MS (Biology), Indian Institute of Science
