Research interests

As part of my master`s project in Cognitive science, I am conducting a study on a delay of gratification at Basel Zoo, under the supervision of Vanessa Wilson and Klaus Zuberbühler. This study aims to investigate the performance of different species (primates, birds, elephants) in a delay of gratification test (the exchange task). Because delay of gratification may have evolved under particular social selection pressures, I’m interested in examining the role fission-fusion dynamics play in the evolution of inhibitory skills.

The data collected on nonhuman primates will contribute to the ManyPrimates Project (https://manyprimates.github.io), a large-scale collaboration in primate cognition research.

Overall, my research interests focus on the evolution of cognitive abilities and communication.
