  • follow an academic curriculum in English
  • note taking and attending classes in English
  • speaking and communication in English-speaking seminars
  • presentation skills
  • grammar and academic writing

The course will take place online. Each session will contain exercises focusing on the four language skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading), based, for the most part, on EAP teaching materials. Online group work (no more than 6 students per group) should allow everyone to participate actively. Teaching will consist in several Webex live sessions of about 60 minutes each, followed by guided autonomous work sessions. The latter will allow students to improve their understanding of different areas of language by means of drill and reflective exercises, some of which will then be discussed during the live sessions. Supplementary materials will be provided for students who wish to get further practice outside the live and off-line sessions.

Students will get 3 ECTS at the end of the course providing they hand in a short essay, do a short presentation and get a grade of at least 4 in the end-of-course test. The Language Centre cannot guarantee recognition of the 3 ECTS by the student’s own Faculty or programme of study.

The course material is going to be made available on Moodle.
