Students in the English Institute can elect two or three of their peers to represent them in the Conseil d’Institut and to serve as an intermediary between the institute staff and the student body. The student representative serves a vital role in institute life, and is therefore taken very seriously. Students who have grievances or suggestions should not hesitate to contact their representative.
The student representatives in 2025-2026 are:
Writing coach
Writing is among the most important skills students develop during their studies in English language and literature. The first-year course “Literature and Writing Workshop” includes tuition in writing. However, some students find it difficult to put what they have learnt into practice when they come to write papers as part of their seminar assignments. In order to help students in this area, the English Institute has set up a writing coaching service.
This semester (autumn 2025), the student assistant for “writing coaching” is Laurie Boissenin.
Students who are having difficulties in their writing are encouraged to contact her by e-mail in order to go and see her, with either an essay that they must rewrite or an essay that they are currently working on.
Language coach
For students seeking assistance with language-related tasks, a student assistant will be available to provide support and guidance connected to Practical Language Work and the Literature and Writing Workshops.
This semester (autumn 2025), the student assistant for “language coaching” is Jessica Payano de la Cruz.
Interested students are encouraged to reach out to her via email.
Monitrice
The monitrice in 2025-2026 is: Noémie Jequier.
Please feel free to contact her for all your questions regarding the plan d’études.
