Grants
Financial assistance might be available to help students with study costs. Students have to meet some conditions.
Grants for students
Various types of grants can be earmarked for students:
- cantonal grants
- grants from the Confederation
- grants and subsidies from private funds from the rectorat

There are also grants for students who wish to spend a semester (or more) studying in another university in Switzerland or abroad.

Grants for researchers
- Grants are designed for beginner researchers aiming to start their career in a research institute abroad.
- Other grants are designed for more advanced researchers aiming to develop their knowledge and build on their scientific profile by spending time abroad.

Financial help
Financial assistance might be available from the « service social » of the University. It is responsible for the University social aid funds and for privately funded grants, aimed at students in financial hardship. Students have to meet some conditions.
