Teaching
The Institute's educational orientations
In teaching, the Institute of Philosophy aims to familiarize students with rational and argumentative approaches, while applying them to the in-depth examination of philosophical problems in both contemporary philosophy and the history of philosophy.
On the other hand, candidates have the opportunity in Neuchâtel to focus on the 17th and 18th centuries as part of their master's degree and subsequently their thesis. They can also be part of a dimension of the study of the Europe of Enlightenment at the University of Neuchâtel, which is a specific feature of our Institute and our Faculty.
Finally, the relationship with classical authors motivates the initiation to Latin or Greek that we ask our students to do.
