How to apply

Documents to enclose:

  • Application form
  • All documents mentioned in the application form
  • Motivation letter (highly recommended)
  • TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, IELTS scores (not mandatory)
  • Recommendation letter (not mandatory)
  • For Chinese candidates: National College Entrance Exam Score

Only completed files will be considered.

Students with a non-Swiss degree

Applications are reviewed by the admissions committee. If accepted, students can start directly or following successful completion of a one-year 60 ECTS pre-programme based on their background.

  • Application deadline: 30 April 2018
  • Beginning of the MScF programme: 18 September 2018

For students subjected to the 60 ECTS pre-programme:

  • Application deadline: 30 April 2018
  • Beginning of the pre-programme: 18 September 2018
  • Beginning of the MScF programme: September 2019

Students with a bachelor degree from Swiss universities

Students with a bachelor degree in business, economics, math or engineering from Swiss universities are directly admitted.

  • Application deadline: 30 April 2018
  • Beginning of the programme: 18 September 2018

Students with a bachelor degree in business from Swiss universities of applied sciences

Students with a bachelor degree in business from Swiss universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschule, HES or HEG) are admitted  following successful completion of a 30 ECTS pre-programme.

  • Application deadline: 31 December 2017
  • Beginning of the pre-programme: 18 February 2018
  • Beginning of the MScF programme: 18 September 2018

30 ECTS pre-programme courses (subject to modification):

  • Consolidation (in English)
  • Empirical methods for economists (in English)
  • International Finance (in English)
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (in English)
  • Mathématiques appliquées 2 (in French)
  • Principes de finance (in French)

For non-French speakers, it is possible to take similar courses in other Swiss universities, subject to approval of the Director of the Master in Finance programme.

Tuition fees

  • CHF 515.-- per semester for Swiss residents
  • CHF 790.-- per semester for non-Swiss residents.

Language recommendation

The programme is entirely in English, therefore a good command of the language is required, i.e. IELTS score 5.5 or more.
