Incoming students

  • Immigration
    • Non European Community/AELE residents will be asked to make a deposit of CHF 18'000 on a Swiss bank account at any bank located in Switzerland.
    • Should the "Service des migrations" (Neuchâtel migration service) not grant you a residence/student permit you will not be enrolled at the University of Neuchâtel.


  • Healthcare

    Healthcare is mandatory in Switzerland. There are two options:

    • Insure yourself in your home country, if applicable. (EU residents are insured in their home country).

    Download the corresponding form.
    Check with your healthcare insurance.

    • Buy insurance as soon as your arrive at the University of Neuchâtel.

  • Late arrivals

    In case of visa delay, we recommend not to join the programme later then end of September as a late arrival may strongly impact chances of succeeding in the programme.
