Thomas Brändle

Lecturer

Biography

Thomas Brändle is Deputy Head of the Economic and Monetary Policy Division and Head of Economic and Fiscal Policy Analysis at the Swiss Federal Department of Finance (FFA). He is Lecturer at the University of Lausanne. Between 2019 and 2021, he worked as Senior Policy Analyst at the OECD in Paris and, in 2016, he was Seconded National Expert to the European Commission, DG-ECFIN in Brussels. Before joining the Federal Department of Finance in 2013, he was Visiting Researcher at University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona and at Bocconi University, Milano. In 2012, he completed his PhD at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Basel, where he worked from 2007 to 2012 and where he is affiliated Research Fellow. He has published articles in academic and economic policy journals. He studied Economics at  the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau, Lugano and Basel.
