Jean Michel Roy Oualy

Biography

Jean Michel Roy Oualy holds a post-doctoral research grant from the Swiss Government Excellence program (2021-2022) and is currently a visiting scholar in the Institute of Economic Research (IRENE) at the University of Neuchâtel. His research focuses on the political economy of inequalities, migration decisions, socio-political instability and development policies. He received his Ph.D. development economics from the University of Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire (2019). His research has been funded by two Marie Curie Actions as of H2020 MSCA RISE: ALICE (AcceLerate Innovation for Climate changE) at Northern Ireland Water of Belfast and GRAGE (Grey And Green in Europe) at HAS Den Bosch University of applied sciences, Netherlands. His previous appointments include projects on the 2011 Manitoba flood at the Rural Development Institute, Brandon University of Manitoba (Canada), and at the Food and Agriculture Organization, statistics division, in Rome. Aside from work, Michel enjoys hiking.
