Gender Coordinator at CABI

Scientific background and interests: Bethel Terefe is a gender specialist with about 15 years of experience in gender programs design and implementation and mainstreaming of gender in development and humanitarian programs. She has also worked on policy engagement and influencing, linking research with policy and practice in agriculture and water supply and sanitation sectors. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations and a masters degree in Regional and Local Development Studies. She joined CABI's Africa center as a gender coordinator in November 2019. Her role involves supporting the mainstreaming of gender in CABI programs, development of capacity on gender mainstreaming within CABI through staff training and undertaking gender analysis and various studies that inform the development of gender sensitive programs by CABI.
