Résumé
Ce séminaire prolonge le séminaire 1 ("Anthropologie américaine: de Morgan à Geertz"), qui doit préalablement avoir été suivi par les étudiants. Il développe et analyse plus particulièrement les débats actuels au sein de la discipline anthropologique aux Etats-Unis, débats qui s'articulent notamment autour des notions de postmodernisme, de réflexivité et d'éthique en sciences sociales. Seront passés en revue: des auteurs importants parce que ré-appropriés par les théories critiques (Bourdieu, Foucault, Derrida, Lyotard, Habermas), des courants critiques (anti-orientalisme, intertextualité, cultural studies, subaltern studies, feminist studies), des ouvrages marquant des tournants épistémologiques, des débats controversés ("l'affaire Sokal") et des propositions et méthodes pour réaliser des recherches à la fois qualitatives et critiques (Atkinson)
