Research:

Chlorinated hydrocarbons are among the most common groundwater contaminants and can contaminate aquifers for decades. Diffusion into low-permeability units and back-diffusion can substantially contribute to contaminant longevity. The aim of my research project is to contribute new fundamental knowledge about isotope behavior in the subsurface in order to improve the current understanding of chlorinated hydrocarbon degradation in low permeability units and their long-term fate in aquifer systems.
