Advanced Bachelor’s students and Master’s students who have courses in English.

There are no special entry requirements except for the students’ level of English. The course is aimed at students who already show an advanced knowledge of the language and whose proficiency level is at least B2. If you are not sure of your level, you can check the evaluation forms on our page “Enseignement.”

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Speak confidently and fluently in English ;
  • Comfortably discuss academic and specialised subjects ;
  • Interact with ease in formal and informal academic situations ;
  • Understand and react to academic presentations in English.

Each session covers a different topic and students are asked to participate in activities in small groups, as well as with the whole class. The focus is on speaking and listening with material and subjects from an academic context.

The course assessment is based on 2 written and 2 oral tasks. Participants are asked to make a fifteen-minute presentation in their field of study or research and make an oral summary of another presentation. They have to write an abstract and give back presentation notes.

The course material is going to be distributed in class. A contribution of CHF 10.- is asked to help cover the cost of the copies.

Enrolment is open until September 29, 2017.
